Media mogul Dan Voiculescu was sentenced to 10 years in prison, in the ICA file for money laundering. Voiculescu received, in substance, five years in prison, but prosecutors asked DNA at the Court of Appeal judgment, to increase the punishment. Voiculescu received the maximum sentence.

Voiculescu received the maximum sentence under the new Criminal Code. Judges of the Court of Appeal has ruled on Friday, the final sentence in the ICA file. However, magistrates decided to ban several rights, including the right to be elected for five years. With this ruling, the Court of Appeal doubled Voiculescu capital punishment given by the Court.

In his final plea to the court, Dan Voiculescu indictment alleged that ICA file is "unfair" and "based on false, not evidence."  On leaving the court premises, Dan Voiculescu said he was sorry that 'completely innocent people' were 'dragged' in a 'criminal' process just because he was to be sentenced.

On September 26, 2013, the Bucharest Court sentenced Voiculescu five years imprisonment for money laundering enforcement. Dan Voiculescu was indicted in December 2008 by DNA prosecutors, as shareholder of SC Voiculescu Industrial Group Company, Grivco SA Bucharest, member of the General Shareholders Meeting and the Board of Directors and member of the ICA and AGA and CEO of SC 'Bioprod' SA Bucharest.

Bucharest Tribunal decision to fund the recovery of damages of 60 million euro found in this file. If the Court of Appeal will have injury recovery, then all defendants will be required to pay the 60 million.
